Weekly Gatherings:
Prayer Warriors,
Wed. @ 8:30 AM
We are a people of prayer who meet each Wednesday morning on Zoom to lift up God’s children in prayer. We then listen hard for how God would use us at the intersection of our gifts and the world’s need.
Grief Recovery Group
Walking the road together
Unresolved grief from any loss can effect our physical, emotional and spiritual health. At 10 Am on the 4th Saturday of each month we offer a safe space for those who have suffered a loss to share, listen and connect. Everything we do as a church is open to the community and this program is especially available to all, wherever your faith or struggle finds you.
Bible Study,
Tuesday @ 10 AM
With the help of some excellent study guides and insights from around the table, we meet in the library to get to know the scripture Pastor Rick will use the following Sunday.
AL Anon
Mon @ 6 PM
Strength and Hope for Families and Friends of Problem Drinkers.
Sunday School Class,
Sun @ 9:00 AM
Various Studies to further our faith and knowledge of the Bible. Contact Bobbi Holstine or the office for the latest studies
Worship Life
Worship each Sunday @ 10:30 AM
You’re invited to be our guests in worship this Sunday. In a time when the distance between us grows larger, here is where we’re called in close to explore and experience God’s grace. We’re pretty casual so dress comfortably and sit anywhere. There is room for you here.
Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome at Christ’s table.
Alcoholics Anonymous,
Wed. & Fri. @ 7PM
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problems. It doesn’t cost anything to attend AA meetings. There are no age ore education requirements to participate. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem.
AA’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics to achieve sobriety. (From the website, www.aa.org)
Backpack Program
Providing food to kids in need
Food insecurity affects 1 in every 5 county residents, mostly children, the elderly, single parents, disabled adults and the working poor. Working with school counselors, we provide “kid friendly” nourishing food to children in the local area over the weekend when school meals are unavailable.
Volunteers in Mission and More
To serve those in need by the labor of our hands with love. (VIM Motto)
Serving others is part of United Methodist DNA, and many of those who worship here volunteer at the Mc Carthy Senior Center, Hickory County C.A.R.E.S. Food Pantry and other area service agencies. Our Volunteer in Mission team regularly serves on projects addressing homelessness and disaster recovery beyond our local area. Closer to home, the team has a ramp system we install to provide safe access in and out of a person’s residence during recovery from surgery, injury or until a permanent access is arranged.
